Yarrow and Pearlescent Lady Necklace

This handmade yarrow necklace grows from a luminous mother of pearl face, symbolizing protection, growth, and connection to the natural world. Much of my sketchbook is filled with peaceful faces transforming into plants, and I love when my painting practice and jewelry work begin to intertwine.

Yarrow has long been associated with protection, boundaries, healing, and resilience. I keep yarrow above the doors in my home as a reminder of strong boundaries and protective energy, and it’s one of my favorite plants to grow in the garden. This botanical talisman necklace was created as a wearable reminder of the protective allies we carry with us.

The yarrow design I hand carved in wax and then cast in sterling silver with a rich oxidized black patina, giving the piece an organic, heirloom feel. The glowing mother of pearl face adds softness and light to the dark silver finish.
