Handmade Bronze Holding Hands Necklace

Of all the pieces I make, the holding hands necklace is my favorite!
I designed these hands in wax first and then made myself a mold. They are cast in bronze. Then I solder the two hands together in a way that allows movement, but they are linked together forever. I often sell them to other artists, massage, therapists, interpreters, and other creatives who work with their hands. They hang on a 16" or 18" sturdy sterling silver chain with a handmade hammered sterling clasp. I put a black patina on the silver because it makes the bronze hands really pop. Each hand measures 1/2" long. I seal the necklace with a museum grade wax to keep the color of both the black patina and the bronze.
